ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT

Based in Stromness, 37½ hours per week  

Salary to be determined based on qualifications, skills and experience,  incl pension

  • Environmental Impact Assessments and planning support
  • Strategic Planning and Roadmapping
  • Environmental surveys and monitoring 
  • Strategic research management
  • Public and stakeholder communications

A core component of Aquatera’s business is supporting energy and infrastructure developers through the consenting and EIA process.  Aquatera also operates at the cutting edge of environmental research, specialising in the sustainable management of the marine environment.

We are seeking to recruit junior environmental consultants who will be skilled, enthusiastic, competent members of our successful team.  We are looking for people with plenty of drive and initiative based on sound knowledge and experience of the renewables sector. This is an ideal opportunity for high achieving individuals with relevant experience, who work well with others and are quick to learn.

Our environmental consultants undertake an active role in all environmental projects and in supporting all elements of the business. Their work is based upon sound principles of environmental stewardship and sustainability with a focus on helping our clients successfully achieve their objectives.  

You will have:

  • Knowledge/experience of the renewables sector
  • Suitable qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Responsibility for producing reports
  • Understanding and experience of the EIA process
  • An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with clients, stakeholders and regulators
  • A role in the promotion and sales of the organisation

PROJECT MANAGER

(Renewable Energy & Sustainable Development)

Based in Stromness, 37½ hours per week

  • Integrated support for the full life cycle of renewables

We are seeking to recruit an experienced project manager within our Environmental Consultancy who will be a skilled, enthusiastic, competent member of our successful team.  We are looking for someone with plenty of drive and initiative and significant project management experience in renewable energy and sustainable development activities across a broad technical range. 

Our project managers lead a diverse range of projects across the full spectrum of Aquatera’s delivery, Given the innovation and new developments in this industry; this includes creative problem solving and strategic planning. Their work is based upon sound principles of environmental stewardship and sustainability with a focus on helping our clients successfully achieve their objectives.  

You will have:

  • Knowledge/experience of the renewables sector at a senior level
  • Suitable qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Project Management experience
  • Responsibility for producing and coordination of large scale reports
  • Understanding and experience of the EIA process
  • An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work with clients, stakeholders and regulators and to represent the company
  • A role in the promotion and sales of the organisation
  • Excellent presentation skills
